Kelly & Jarrad – The One-Phone-Call Pop Up Wedding

I advertise that I offer Pop Up Weddings and there are so many interpretations of what a Pop Up Wedding is, it’s impossible to tie it down to one description. I hadn’t actually thought about it being just a one-phone-call wedding! But that’s exactly what a Pop Up Wedding is! You make one phone call and everything else just happens by magic! All you need to do is turn up on the day 🙂 But I had never advertised it that way. It wasn’t until Kelly called that I realised how key that is to a Pop-Up Wedding.

Kelly and Jarrad have been together for over 10 years and already have their family of three gorgeous boys but had never gotten around to getting married. In Kelly’s words – “they were just too disorganised!” So she decided to have another attempt and called me. “I just want to make one phone call” she said, “and for everything else to happen without me having to do anything.” So that’s what we did.

I gave her a few photographers to choose from, hair and makeup, flowers, decorations and we discussed venues. Once I knew exactly what she wanted I booked it. We then worked on the ceremony and involved the whole family with a hand-fasting ceremony. Every ribbon colour represents certain values and the five of them chose their ribbon for the values they thought were important. Kelly and Jarrad found it very enlightening and touching to see which colours the boys chose.

It was just a fabulous day and totally enjoyed by all. I loved being a part of it and thanks again Kelly for making that ‘one-call’ x
