Rebecca & Abbey – Same-Sex Elopement Wedding
Meeting amazing people is one of the most fabulous perks of being a marriage celebrant. I have huge respect and a deep gratitude for those incredible people in our community who serve in the forces. These are the people who dedicate their lives to protecting our country, securing our freedom and ensuring our peace of mind. How special is that.
I felt an incredible sense of pride when Bec and Abbey asked me to be their Perth marriage celebrant, two fabulous women who are quietly making a difference.
They wanted to be married under their favourite tree in Kings Park with about 40 family and friends around them. But, suddenly, orders came that they were to be re-stationed over East in a few weeks so wedding planning became elopement planning.
The ceremony was still to take place under The Tree until a few days beforehand when the weather decided to try and discourage that idea! We booked The Old Tea Pavilion instead and were so happy we did. It was beautifully decorated and we were all very impressed how perfectly the arbour complemented the Pavilion! The intermittent raindrops were unremarkable and went unnoticed.
Their two best friends were the witnesses and the only guests. To say they felt special is a huge understatement! They were asked to ‘warm the rings’ by blessing them with their love and best wishes and they both took full advantage of the opportunity. Wonderful, heart-warming words teased a tear from both bride’s eyes.
Bec and Abbey, I hope life is always good to you and you stay safe. Thank you again, for everything.

“Thank you so much for being amazing yesterday! Abbey and I cannot thank you enough – the ceremony was beautiful and we appreciate you going above and beyond for us.”
